Vintage Vogue Class Bundle Details Up

Hello!

Details of the contents of the Class Bundle for the Vintage Vogue class that I'll be holding on 18th September are now available on my Classes and Events page. There are still a few spaces left, so if you'd like to book onto the class let me know - it'll be a fantastic afternoon and I'd love to spend some time crafting with you!

Don't forget - if you book the class bundle before the class, you will get the class itself free, as well as benefitting from free delivery on the bundle. That saves you a huge £18.95 altogether!!

Punched Flower Cards

I came across this photo today and realised I had forgotten to blog these little cards.

I did them a while ago for a swap and was really happy with the way they turned out. The stamp sets used are "A Beautiful Thing" and "Trendy Trees". I love the way the flowers work with the scallop circle punch, it looks like a whole extra layer of petals, I think.

I hope you like them.

Back From Stamperama!

Whew - what a fantastic day we had on Sunday at Stamperama! Thank you to those of you who came to say hello to us, and to take part in our make and takes - it was brilliant to see you all!

For those who couldn't make it, here is a little picture of the make and take that we did. Isn't it pretty? It's a little calendar holder designed by the lovely Bekka (thanks so much for all your hard work and for your encouragement and inspiration Bekka) and it went down really well with all who made it. The colour scheme is Taken With Teal, More Mustard and So Saffron - gorgeous - and the stamp set is, of course, Greenhouse Garden!

A big thanks to all those who left your contact details. One of us (Bekka, Karen or I) will be getting in touch with you as soon as possible.

Yesterday saw the launch of the big Stampfest that Bekka and I will be doing on October 3rd, which I'm sooooo excited about. For those of you for whom Ipswich is too far east, Bekka and Karen will be holding a similar event in Dunstable later that month. Stampfest will be a full day of crafting, with lots of projects and inspiration for all of you. Keep an eye out on my events page for further details - I'm hoping this will become a regular event, held once a quarter, I'll post more dates as soon as I know them.

Hugs,

Becki

Two-Step Stampin' Card

Hello!

With the current Two-Step Stampin' promotion from SU, I've been playing around a lot with the various sets on offer. This card uses two of these sets, Trendy Trees and Bird On A Branch. I wanted to show you how versatile these sets can be, so I've used them together here to make a little picture.

I love how well the branch from Bird On A Branch works to frame the little Trendy Trees, and I've used another of the Trendy Tree tree tops to make the sun just peeping through the branches. Oh - and the grass around the bases of the little trees is made using the speckle stamp from Bird On A Branch.

Colours used are Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Certainly Celery and Pumpkin Pie.

I hope you like it!

Tomorrow is Stamperama at Stevenage Leisure Centre. Do come over and say hello if you're there - it'd be great to see you!

Hugs,

Becki

Notepad and Pen sets

Hello!

I thought you might like to see a couple of little gift sets I made up as a door prize and hostess gift for one of my recent workshops. They are really pretty sets comprising a note pad (it's those well-known sticky notes, actually) and pen, decorated using Stampin' Up! design series paper.

I think this would be a great little gift to make up for when you need a little something to give, but when spending a lot isn't appropriate. One of the ladies at the workshop is about to go to university, and thought this would be fantastic for her, as she knows money won't exactly be abundant, but still wants to be able to give pretty presents to her friends.

This was the door prize:

The DSP used here is a retired one (Washington Apple, I think it was), teamed up with Whisper White  grosgrain ribbon and So Saffron cardstock. The pen is a basic biro, customised by rolling up a piece of DSP and popping it inside the barrel, wrapped around the ink "cartridge". This is what it looked like when I'd wrapped it up.

I used one of SU's cellophane bags and made a topper using the cardstock and DSP to match the gift set. The sentiments are from Oval All.

Here is the one I made for the lovely hostess. The DSP this time is Bella Bleu, with Very Vanilla ribbon, Brocade Blue and Barely Banana cardstock, finshed off with one of the absolutely gorgeous Filigree Brads.

I hope you like them. Back soon with more.

Hugs,

Becki

Two-Step Stamping - Fantastic Offer for August!

Hello everyone!

Oh my oh my oh my - Stampin' Up! have come up with the most fantastic offer for this August. Until the end of the month you can get 20% off the catalogue price of selected "Two-Step" stamp sets. You really won't want to miss out on this one!

So, what exactly IS two-step stamping? Simply put, it is a great way of adding detail and interest to your stamping by using two stamps layered together to create a single image. The effect is amazing and it is SO easy to do! Have a look at this card:

Here, the branch, the blossom and the bird were all stamped using different stamps, but they work together to create a beautiful picture. (Incidentally, you can see how you can still use each stamp separately, because I've used the blossom stamp to create the background on the card base).

I still can't work out quite how to link a .pdf file so that you can open it from here, unfortunately, but here are the details of the offer in full:
