The New Mini Is On Its Way!!!

Hello!

Wow - I've been having a ball this week, playing with all the gorgeous new stuff I've ordered on pre-order from the new Mini-Catalogue which launches tomorrow. Only one more day to go and I can share it all with you and, believe me, it is well worth the wait. So many yummy, scrummy things!

If you're in the Ipswich area, why don't you come along to my Mini-Catalogue Launch Party this coming Saturday at 2:00pm. It's free, and there will be make and takes, a raffle and refreshments as well as the chance to get your hands on the new Mini-Catalogue just the day after it is launched. I will have some fantastic special offers available (offers from me, not from Stampin' Up!, so not available anywhere else) and bonuses for anyone who books a party with me on the day, so do come along if you're free.

In the meantime, here is the thank you card that I made for the ladies who placed an order with me this month. It gives you a sneak peek at a couple of the new things that are coming in the new Mini-Catalogue. Can you spot them, I wonder?

One piece of news: I have had to postpone April's Saturday class, because we pick up the keys for our new house the day before it was timetabled. Huge apologies for this - I was hoping to be able to run all my April classes as normal, but given the way the timetable for the move has turned out, it's just not going to be possible. The class that was scheduled for 16th April will now run on 21st May instead. I'm also having to cancel the April Beginners' Cardmaking class, I'm afraid. The techniques class (6th April) will go ahead for those who have already booked (booking for that one is closed now), and the Beginners' Scrapbooking (13th April) will carry on as scheduled.

See you tomorrow - Mini-Catalogue Launch Day!!! Thanks for popping by.

Hello!

I just found a photo that I thought I'd posted ages ago. I probably oughtn't to show this now, really, 'cause the stamp sets I used were Sale-A-Bration ones and you can't get hold of them any more, but I love this card so I'm going to break my usual rule of "current stuff only" and show it to you anyway.

Isn't it pretty? I made one version of this with added Basic Pearls, but unfortunately I can't find a photograph of the "blinged-up" version. This simple card is the one that I made with all the lovely ladies who attended Stampin' Up! parties that I did in February, and is a great example of how you don't need lots of jazzy products to make a really effective card. Card, stamps, ink and a couple of punches is all that was used on this one.

The colouring is done using the fantastically useful Blender Pens, taking ink direct from our Classic Stampin' Pads (inkpads, in non-Stampin' Up! language). It's a brilliant technique and gives you a much more subtle result than either a waterbrush or our Stampin' Write markers. You can get hold of the Blender Pens at twenty percent off the usual price this month (£6.36, rather than the usual £7.95 for three pens) as part of the March Frenzy promotion, so give me a call or drop me a line if you'd like to get your hands on some.

Don't forget - if you'd like to spend a fun evening crafting with friends and to have a chance to play with and order some of the fab products that Stampin' Up! has to offer, I'd love to come and do a party for you. Just click on the link in the sidebar and email me to arrange a date.

Thanks for dropping by, and I'll be back with more soon.

Bright and Breezy Gift Card

Hello!

Here is the final project we made at Saturday's class. It is a little gift card that makes a really pretty way to present those little plastic credit-card-type gift vouchers that seem to be everywhere nowadays, or to give cash, a cheque or tickets to a show. It is so much nicer to give something pretty than to just pop presents like these into a plain envelope.

Again, this project uses "Simply Said" and Stampin' Up!'s gorgeous Organza Ribbon. I love the sentiment ("Simply said from the heart - thank you") and it is perfect to turn this card into a thoughtful thank you gift.

The pink band round the centre slides off so you can stand the "card" on the mantelpiece. Just attach your gift voucher to the back of the pull-out insert (mini-glue dots are ideal for this) and there you are!

Thanks for looking. Back soon.

Bright And Breezy Brag Book

Hello!

This is the second project we made at Saturday's class: a sweet little brag book to pop your loved ones' photos in and keep in your handbag. So much nicer than that dog-eared picture in your purse!

The stamp set is "Simply Said" again (I love this set - so much you can do with it!) and again a really cheery colour combination.

I always think it's interesting how the slightest change can make the same project look totally different. Here is the same book, but with the Daffodil Delight swapped for So Saffron, and using Very Vanilla instead of Whisper White.

A little inking round the edges and the dotty flowers stamp used as a background, and you have a much more vintage, distressed look. Same stamps same basic colour theme - completely different result! Is it any wonder I love to stamp?

Incidentally, if the vintage look appeals, I'm running a Techniques Class centred round distressing and vintage techniques on the first Wednesday in May. Hope over to my classes page for more details, and why not come along and join us?

Back soon. Thanks for visiting.

Bright And Breezy Class Card

Hello!

I hope you had as good a weekend as I had. I have felt really good this last week or so and Alan and I even made it to a ceilidh on Saturday evening. Apart from at our wedding, this was the first time I'd danced for about five years and I had a whale of a time! I couldn't dance as much as I wanted to, and I'm going to be sooooo tired this week, but oh I loved it!

This card is one of the projects we made at this month's Saturday class. We were using the gorgeous "Simply Said" stamp set, and a bright, cheery palette consisting of Daffodil Delight, Rose Red and Wild Wasabi. I LOVE this combination - really springlike and happy.

These twisted easel cards are nice and easy to make, but they're such a refreshing change from the card shapes we're more used to seeing. And that Whisper White Organza Ribbon is just LUSH!!

I'll be back with another project tomorrow. In the meantime, if you'd like to book onto one of my classes, the next one is my monthly Technique Class on Wednesday 6th April. This time, "Ravishing Ruffles and Beautiful Bows: stunning ways to make your projects stand out with ribbon". The cost is £10.00 for a two-hour class, and this includes a full reel of Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon. If you'd like to join in then you need to book by 28th March (I need to make sure I have time to order your ribbon before the class). Book using the PayPal button in the side bar or call or email me to secure your place.

Back soon. Thanks for dropping by.

Please Sponsor My Lovely Husband...

Hello!

I hope no one minds me using my blog to tell you that my lovely husband, Alan, is going to be swimming in the 2011 Swimathon on 9th April, to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. He is going to be swimming a kilometre (forty lengths) and has been training really hard for this.

I am so proud of him for taking part in this. Here is the link to his sponsorship page. Please, take a couple of minutes to click across and sponsor him for as much or as little as you can afford. Every little bit will make a huge difference.

Thank you so much.

Back soon with more crafting. Thanks for visiting!

Baroque Motifs Bookmark

Hello!

What a gorgeous day - I'm sitting here looking out at the most beautiful, sunny morning. It really feels as if Spring might be on its way at last. The daffs are out in the back garden, and Rosie is asleep in her own little patch of sunshine just inside the kitchen door. Idyllic!

I've had a brilliant few days. One of the many fabby things about being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is that we get to hear about new product lines before anyone else - and we also get to play with these before anyone else at high-octane training days organised by SU. On Friday, I went down to Hounslow to one of the training days organised in anticipation of the forthcoming launch of the new Mini-Catalogue on 1st April. Wow - what a fantastic day! There are so many exciting things happening, so many gorgeous new products heading our way and I just can't wait until I can tell you about them! If you're in my team of Sunshine Stampers then you'll hear from me in the next day or so with full details, but for the rest of you - I'm sorry! - you'll have to wait until April! See, you SO need to sign up as a demo!!

One thing I can show you, though, is the swap I made for the lovely ladies who joined me at the training day. I decided to make a little bookmark, 'cause I always need loads of these and it is so nice to have a pretty bookmark rather than marking your place with an old receipt or (horrible, horrible!!) just folding over the corner of the page. This is what I came up with:

I used yet another of the free stamp sets that I have earned since becoming an SU demonstrator, "Baroque Motifs". I love this set, it can be really flouncy and girly if you want it to be, or it can be grungy and vintage, and the swirls are just SO useful for all sorts of backgrounds and events. Here, I decided to go for a bit of a distressed look, and sponged the edges of the central Very Vanilla paned using a sponge dauber. I made two colour-ways, one used Baha Breeze, the other River Rock - both teamed with Very Vanilla and Early Espresso. The ribbon is the luscious Early Espresso satin. The sentiment is from "Just Believe".

If you love stamp sets but would rather earn them for free than pay for them - contact me to talk about becoming a member of my team. It could be the best thing you ever do!

Have a lovely day. Thanks for visiting!

March Class Bundle Is Up!

Hello! What a busy week - we've been hunting around for somewhere else to live, and it's all taken off in the last fortnight so apologies for the somewhat sketchy blogging and the lateness of the details for the March class bundle. You can now find it here and there is a PayPal link in the sidebar to make booking it really easy.

Here's a little teaser pic of one of the projects that we'll be making in this month's class. We'll be using the beautiful "Simply Said" stamp set:

For those of you who aren't familiar with the way my class bundles work, I'll tell you. Normally, my classes cost £15 for a three hour class, including step-by-step instruction sheets and all materials. If, however, you choose to buy the Class Bundle for a particular month, you will be able to come to the class for just a minimal £3.00 contribution towards materials - and I will pay your shipping fee if you order by the specified date. It's a fantastic way to build up your stash, and to get ideas for how to use your stamps at the same time!

For the March class, you need to order the bundle by 9th March to get free shipping, and if you aren't ordering the class bundle then you will need to book and pay for the class by no later than 16th March. If you don't have PayPal, then call me, or drop me an email if you want to book either the class or the bundle (or both!).

As for the house thing, well, we have found a gorgeous new place, and if all goes according to plan we'll be picking up the keys in mid-April and moving over the following couple of weeks. It's only a couple of miles or so from where we are now, so apart from a slight change in class location everything Sunshine Stamping-wise will stay the same. I'll let you know when the class location changes; until then we're in the same place as usual.

Back soon, and thanks for visiting!

Becki
