The new Autumn Winter Catalogue is here!

Your guide to seasonal happiness.... that's the headline on this year's Stampin' Up! Autumn Winter Catalogue. It's a big claim; I think this gorgeous book can live up to it, but why don't you find out for yourself?

If you live in the UK, France, Germany, Austria or the Netherlands, and you'd like your very own copy of the new Autumn Winter Catalogue, then let me know, and I'll post one out to you.

Chalk Talk / Modern Medley Birthday Card

Morning! Another square card for you today, this time one I made for my lovely Stampin' Up! upline, Bekka. I've used my new favourite colour combination of Crushed Curry and Very Vanilla, along with Basic Black to make it all pop.

The Designer Series Paper is from the Modern Medley Speciality pack - I love this pack, it works with absolutely EVERYTHING! The new Chevron Ribbon is just amazing, too, it's sooooo soft you wouldn't believe. And the sentiment is from "Chalk Talk" - told you I loved this set.

Wildflower Meadow Dry-Embossed Card

This card was my first play with this stamp set / embossing folder combination, and I love the possibilities here. What do you think?

The stamp is a big new one called "Wildflower Meadow" and is big enough to fill a C6 card on its own, so I've only used part of it here - and I've inked it up using Stampin' Write markers. I'm not sure about the blue, I think it should have been a slightly paler one but I think it works, overall. The card is very much inspired by one of the samples on page 81 of our Annual Catalogue, just tweaked a bit to use the supplies I had at the time.

The really clever thing about this stamp is that it works together with the Wildflower Meadow embossing folder. If you look closely at the photo, you'll see that the stamped image is raised slightly. It doesn't show up too well in the picture I took, unfortunately, but in real life it really pops!

If you're interested in embossing of the heat variety, why not sign up for my September Tantalising Techniques class? You can find all the details here, and booking is open until 30th August.

Thanks for dropping in! I'll be back with more soon.

Embossing Essentials

What do you think of Heat Embossing?

Does this sound like you?
  • Do you love the professional, raised finish you get from heat embossing?
  • Have you been scared of trying it? (It looks so good, it MUST be difficult, right?)
  • You've had a go, but don't think it looks right when you do it - and you're not sure where you're going wrong?
  • Do you know the basics but want to do more with that little pot of powder?

Quatrefancy Decorated Gift Box

What do you think of this pretty little box? It's the final project from this month's class, and it's so easy to make!

The box itself is one of our great little Kraft Gift Boxes - you get four of them in a pack for just £2.75 (3.50 Euros). I've covered it with Quatrefancy Speciality Designer Series Paper and then popped on top a decoration made using the Mosaic Madness stamp set and the co-ordinating Mosaic punch, layered up with a scalloped circle and a couple of ordinary circles. A quick wrap-around with Natural Trim ribbon completes it.

Told you Perfect Packaging was easy!

If you've liked August's class projects, then why not join us in September? I'll be posting details of the class tomorrow or, if you can't wait, then you can find out all about it by clicking here.

Decorated Tag-a-Bag Boxes

Two more class projects for you today: this time two boxes from our "Tag-a-Bag" range, beautifully decorated using Quatrefancy Speciality Designer Series Paper, ribbon and buttons. I love these - they make beautiful gift-wrapping so simple yet effective. The stamps are from the "Chalk Talk" set.

The triple-loop bow that you can see on the top box is really easy to do, when you know how. In the very near future I'm going to be giving away a "how-to" sheet showing you exactly how to tie this pretty bow, when you sign up to my mailing list, so watch this space (I just have to work out the technology first!)

Thanks for looking!

August Class Project 1 - Box With Printed Acetate Lid and Matching Gift Bag

This month's classes were all about Perfect Packaging. Here's one of the projects we made: a little box with a printed acetate lid, sized to fit inside one of our Tag-a-Bag Gift Bags and decorated with scrummy Natural Trim ribbon and Baker's Twine.

Working with acetate is easy, so long as you're working with the good stuff. This printed sheet is part of the Quatrefancy Speciality Designer Series Paper pack - you get two 12" x 12" sheets in a pack. It scores beautifully, doesn't go white when you score it and doesn't split after scoring, either. Love it!

I'll show you another class project next time, so do pop back to see. Thanks for dropping in!

Printed Window Sheet Card

Another square card for you today - this time using printed acetate to make the card base.

How gorgeous is this?! The printed window sheet (acetate) and Designer Series Paper both come from the Quatrefancy DSP pack, which is the ladies in my classes have had in their class packs this month.

Now I'm not usually a bright, in-your-face-colours kind of a girl, and if you'd told me a few months ago that I would be using Daffodil Delight ribbon like it's going out of fashion I'd have probably given you a very strange look. But I LOVE our Seam Binding in this colour!

The sentiment is from the "Label Love" stamp set, which you can get on its own or as part of a bundle with the matching Artisan Label punch. If you buy the bundle, you'll save a massive 15% on the individual prices, so it's well worth doing. For this one, I've mounted the punched-out sentiment onto the Decorative Label shape.

What do you think? Time to get those window sheets out, folks!

Pop back soon and I'll have pics for you of this month's class projects. Thanks for dropping in, and I'll see you again soon..

Modern Medley Birthday Card

I'm loving square cards at the moment. Here's one I made for a lovely friend's birthday a while back, using a stunning Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Crushed Curry colourway.

The lush paper is from the Modern Medley DSP pack, and the stamps are from the Apothecary Art set. I coloured just the flowers in using a blender pen and Crushed Curry ink. What do you think?

It's quite a large card, six inches square, so I made an envelope to go with it (but forgot to take a photo - sorry!)

Back with more soon. Have a fantastic day!
